An Archaeological Project

A story unfolds..

Lenton Priory was a Cluniac monastery founded in 1106-1107AD and located in the City of Nottingham, United Kingdom. It was once famed for its elaborate architecture and bustling annual 'Martinmas' Fair, but today only a single column base remains.

This website takes you on a journey through time, bringing together the Priory’s heritage from existing resources and research. It tells the story of how a successful Heritage Lottery Bid uncovered the long forgotten Priory for the Community and left a lasting legacy for all. Come take a tour..
